WE HAVE BEEN CERTIFIED BY VISITBRITAIN AND VISITSOTLAND AS GOOD TO GO!
covid - 19 plan
.PLEASE
CORONAVIRUS ADVICE
Black Hart Entertainment is fully committed to protecting our staff and customers from the COVID-19 virus and will adhere to government guidelines at this difficult time. As you may appreciate, a walking tour company faces all sorts of… interesting challenges. We will do our very best to entertain while trying to keep you safe from the virus. You’ll never be safe from the Mackenzie Poltergeist, though. Can’t do anything about that.
If you have any worries, we recommend you take the Haunted Graveyard Tour, which is entirely outdoors. Normally it ends in a Mausoleum in the Covenanters Prison. Until further notice, however, it will end in the gap between two tombs instead. This means you’ll be as safe as possible from COVID-19 (though, again, not the Poltergeist).
What We Will be Doing
We must insist you wear a mask on our tours. This is not just for your own safety but the safety of the guide and other customers. If you do not have a mask, you can buy one from the guide at the beginning of the tour.
We have reduced the number of people we are taking on each tour to ensure you have space.
We will keep your contact details so that we can contact you about COVID-19, if necessary.
We have altered appropriate routes to stay away from crowded places.
We have signage in the vaults which we ask you to repect. We'll also be using the tried and tested military parade method of social distancing. When we stop for a story, stretch out your arm. If you're touching someone, you're too close. (This doesn't apply to people who came on the tour together, as they'll not have been social distancing).
It will be difficult but please attempt not to crowd together too much. Do not scream in each other's faces.
There will be hand sanitiser available to all at the end of every tour. Dispensers are stationed in the vaults and also our office in the Graveyard.
At the end of the vaults section, the guide will send people out every 10 seconds, to ensure a safe distance between them.
Our online booking system is easy to use. We encourage you to book online in advance where possible. If paying the guide, please use contactless payment where possible, to reduce the cash handling.
What We Ask of You
PLEASE GET VACCINATED! Ths tour is dangerous enough.
Please do not attend a tour if you feel unwell. If the guide suspects you are ill, he/she has the right to refuse admission and you will be refunded instead. Obviously, the guide cannot wear a mask while talking. However, he/she will stand well back and not touch the customers.
PLEASE wear your mask, sanitise your hands at the receptacles provided and obey the guide. Do not stand too close to other tour members or the guide.
It is difficult to anticipate just what challenges both guide and customer will experience. So let's please use common sense and patience while we both find out
WARNING. There is an inherent risk of COVID-19 in every public place. By coming on our tour, guests accept they are aware of this and have a duty to take steps to ensure their own safety. Customers should behave responsibly or we will ask you to leave for the safety of others.
